Mariya Manzhos is a freelance journalist, whose work has appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post Magazine, The Boston Globe, among other publications. In her stories, she’s interested in exploring the complexities of human experience and what lies below the surface of our communities, relationships, and Instagram accounts. She studied humanities and French at Brigham Young University and has a master’s degree in journalism from Boston University. A native of Kyiv, Ukraine, she is fascinated by how we find a sense of belonging in the world. Since the beginning of Russia’s invasion in Ukraine , she has evacuated her parents from Kyiv, who are now staying with her family in Somerville, MA. Mariya attends Cambridge First ward with her husband and three children. Some years ago, she was Dialogue’s business manager.
