Because Gospel Study lessons around the church did not focus on Official Declaration 2 this December, Dialogue is pleased to present this important lesson with Kimberly Applewhite Teitter, talking about why it is important that we have these hard conversations about our history.
Kimberly Applewhite Teitter is a nearly-lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, her parents having been baptized when she was at an early age. She enjoys contributing to her church community both locally and at-large. Kimberly has been featured as an essayist in Exponent II; Why I Stay: Volume 2; Every Needful Thing; No Division Among You; and Mother in Heaven: a Gospel Topics Study Guide. She has also been in numerous podcasts, online publications, and news articles for intersectional Latter-day Saint issues. Kimberly is a licensed psychologist working in the Salt Lake City area, and is an adjunct instructor at the University of Utah Department of Psychiatry. She was recently a TEDxSaltLakeCity speaker in 2024. She also volunteers her time as Assistant Director of the Debra Bonner Unity Gospel Choir, and currently serves as the music chair for the Genesis Group.
