Dialogue Gospel Study with Tanya Wells Brown on June 14

June 8, 2026

Tanya Wells Brown is a social worker and public health specialist currently undertaking doctoral research at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. She serves as a Safeguarding Lead for the Diocese of Europe in Portugal, where her work focuses on preventing harm and strengthening safe, accountable practices within faith-based communities.

Tanya is part of the Community of Practice with the Sexual Violence Research Initiative (SVRI), contributing to global efforts to understand and prevent violence in faith settings, with a particular focus on the intersections of gender, power, and religion. Her work explores how faith spaces can both perpetuate and challenge inequalities, and how safeguarding approaches can be grounded in justice and care.

This summer, she is teaching a Gospel Study lesson for Dialogue, where she will present on the books of Ruth and Judith, bringing a perspective attentive to gender, power, and the social contexts that shape faith and lived experience.
