Dale Gunn-Lawton is a Managing Director at Kensington Capital Philanthropies, the social impact arm of a private family office focused on empowering people to build healthy, prosperous lives. Major initiatives include Ensign Global UniversityEngage Now Africa, and the Center for Business, Health, and Prosperity.  

Before joining KCP, Dale served as Deputy Director of the New York Office of Public and International Affairs for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, representing the Church and LDS Charities in relationships with the United Nations, the diplomatic community, and the interfaith world.

Dale also served for 20 years as a U.S. diplomat, most recently as Spokesperson and Public Affairs Counselor at the U.S. Embassy in Havana, Cuba (2023–24). He previously served in Saudi Arabia, Oman, Venezuela, Iraq, South Africa, Cuba (2009–11), Mongolia, Ghana, and Washington, DC. Earlier in his career, he worked in the nonprofit sector focused on improving candidate conduct in U.S. political campaigns.

Dale holds a BA in Near Eastern Studies from Brigham Young University and an MA and PhD in Politics from the University of Virginia. He was an Arabic Language Fulbright Fellow in Amman, Jordan, and served as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ in the Italy Catania Mission.
