LANT PRITCHETT {[email protected]} is professor of the Practice of International Development at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. He and his wife, Diane Tueller Pritchett, are the parents of three children. Lant currently works in his favorite calling in the Church: assistant to the ward nursery leader.

One cannot talk in church on Mother’s Day without venturing into territory like women’s role in the Church and its relation to motherhood.
