DAVID SALMANSON {[email protected]} teaches history at Springside School, an all-girls K–12 in Philadelphia. He abandoned a book project on the history of uranium mining in New Mexico. Like the ever-hopeful settlers of Blue Valley, he plans to return to it someday. In the meantime, he’s raising three children and, weather permitting, tomatoes.
