Each year, Dialogue hosts a Eugene England memorial essay contest to honor essays that represent Gene’s vision of an expansive, inclusive, and bold Mormonism.
Eugene England Memorial Essay Award for 2016
Lon R. Young, “That’s Where the Light Enters”

In also honoring the best fiction published in Dialogue, judges this year decided to honor three stories that further the vision of Mormon literature:
1st: William Morris, “The Darkest Abyss in America”
2nd: Eric W. Jepson, “The Laurel’s First-Night Fantasies”
3rd: Steven Peck, “Bishop Johansen Rescues a Lost Soul: A Tale of Pleasant Grove”
